Cavilling - A4
Artist's note: This painting depicts man crucified on the cross of fault-finding, backbiting, sarcasm and judging. Gurdjieff called
it pecking to death. The Holy Prophet frequently refers to the consequences of backbiting, and the Christian gospels speak of the dangers of
fault-finding. One of the prevalent patterns of modern life is to judge others and most of the judgements come from fixed attitudes derived
from one’s environment or heredity. Cavilling has no positive side and always feeds the Moon.
