Artist's note: In the search for the truth we all come up against the formal religions of our country. Exoteric religion is usually narrow as it relies for strength on external laws. All bigotry stems from this source and most religions are couched in fear. Unconscious man requires feeding and does not want to think for himself because he is incapable of making decisions. No matter whether it is the Bible or the Koran, the mass of adherents take their teaching literally and this leads to all forms of intolerance and misery – their teacher is the only one who is right and anyone not believing in him goes to damnation, whereas if you are one of the believers you go to paradise.
