Negative Attitudes
Intolerance
Editors’ note: Intolerance is ignorance – there is no intellect being used, so a person reacts from fixed attitudes and
conditioning. In society, where there is a majority and a minority grouping people become intolerant from ignorance of each other. When
religious groups vie with each other there is no third force operating. The advice of Jesus to turn the other cheek involves putting up with
what people are doing, trying to understand their motives. You cannot change other people, you can only change yourself, and the way out of
intolerance is to externally consider others.
