The States of Man

Man Asleep

Artist's note: This is the state of most people; although they think they are conscious, in reality they are dreaming their lives away. It is this fact that allows advertising to play such a great part in modern civilisation. Man, being asleep, allows himself to be preyed upon by others and this state is used by all politicians. Man asleep is strongly under the influence of the Earth, but he has the chance of waking and that is why aspects of the Sun and His Endlessness appear in the painting.
