Editors' note: Selflessness is advocated in all religions. It is one of the real ways of finding God. To externally consider others in life one would need to be selfless for that particular moment. Abdullah advises us to ‘take ourselves out of the picture’. The body and ego are the self that needs to give way in order to develop humility. Looking at the stars at night and appreciating how small we each are in the scheme of things gives us a taste of selflessness. Selflessness works in all areas but we should aim for the spiritual aspect.
