Editors' note: Our Holy Mother the Earth is passive to the Sun, receiving and absorbing the Sun. If a woman wants to know what it is to be passive, Abdullah would say, ‘Just look at the Earth!’ That is the ultimate in femininity within our scope. To see the way the Earth we are living on works and operates in relationship to the Sun and all organic life on Earth is to understand passivity inside yourself. Both men and women must be passive within to hear Allah. The active initiates, the passive absorbs. There is nothing weak in being passive. To be truly passive is a very noble, strong, powerful state.
