Editors' note: We must all begin somewhere in our quest for God. At the start we use our senses. Take the example of the Sun setting: when it is night we say that the Sun has set, but we know that the Sun shines constantly in our solar system; only from our perspective on a spinning planet do we gain the impression of sunset. If you think about this example and try to have an emotional appreciation of it, this will give you a taste of what is meant by universal vision.

Night and day symbolise our ordinary three-dimensional way of viewing reality where we are governed by what we see and are trapped in the pairs of opposites. We see the night and the day without understanding that there must be a third force. But if you listen to the birds at dawn or when dusk falls, you will hear the third force, if you have ears to hear.
